ABOUT HOPLIT

Real Ideas. A Brighter Tomorrow.

HOPLIT began with a simple question: what if a useful light could also become a useful point for wireless connectivity?

THE CORE IDEA

Lighting First. Connectivity Built In.

Different forms. Different environments. One illuminated-network platform built around practical lighting locations.

THE BEGINNING

It Started With a Simple Question.

What if a light could do more than illuminate a space?

That question became the foundation for HOPLIT: an adaptable concept combining illumination and wireless networking capability within the same device platform.

The idea is not tied to one fixture or one location. HOPLIT can be explored across interior lighting, landscape lighting, architectural fixtures, streetlights and other forms where illumination is already useful.

The Work Now

Turn the concept into representative prototypes, test them under real conditions and build the engineering evidence needed for future manufacturing and commercialization decisions.

WHY LIGHTING?

Because Light Is Already Part of Everyday Infrastructure.

Lighting exists where people need visibility: along streets, around buildings, through parks, across campuses, inside homes and throughout public spaces.

HOPLIT asks whether those familiar locations can also become useful places for connectivity. The opportunity is not to replace the purpose of lighting—it is to add another useful function to a location that already matters.

Wherever light is needed, there may also be an opportunity for connectivity.

OUR DEVELOPMENT MISSION

HOPLIT is focused on developing illumination devices that integrate wireless networking capabilities into everyday lighting products. The objective is to develop standalone lighting devices that provide both illumination and networking functionality.

BUILDING WHAT COMES NEXT

Turning the Idea Into Engineering Evidence.

The path forward is deliberate: demonstrate the concept in representative forms, learn from the hardware and the environment, and let the results guide what comes next.

Practical Integration

Explore how lighting and networking functions can share one adaptable device platform.

Adaptable Forms

Carry the concept across indoor, outdoor, municipal, residential and specialty lighting embodiments.

Real-World Validation

Use prototypes and small connected clusters to evaluate performance, durability, maintenance and serviceability.

Long-Term Opportunity

Build the evidence needed to evaluate manufacturing and commercialization pathways responsibly.

DRIVEN BY PURPOSE

The Vision Is Broader Than Any Single Fixture.

HOPLIT was founded by Matthew P. Palombia around a straightforward objective: develop lighting products that can also provide wireless networking functionality.

The project is being advanced through intellectual-property development, prototype work, research planning and the search for engineering, manufacturing and funding partners who can help move the concept through validation.

The long-term vision is an adaptable illuminated-network platform that can be evaluated across multiple environments and applications.

BUILDING WHAT COMES NEXT

The Opportunity Is Bigger Than One Place.

HOPLIT is open to working with municipalities, businesses, developers, research institutions, manufacturers and other organizations that can help test the concept, strengthen the engineering and explore where illuminated-network devices may create practical value.
