THE BEGINNING
It Started With a Simple Question.
What if a light could do more than illuminate a space?
That question became the foundation for HOPLIT: an adaptable concept combining illumination and wireless networking capability within the same device platform.
The idea is not tied to one fixture or one location. HOPLIT can be explored across interior lighting, landscape lighting, architectural fixtures, streetlights and other forms where illumination is already useful.
The Work Now
Turn the concept into representative prototypes, test them under real conditions and build the engineering evidence needed for future manufacturing and commercialization decisions.
WHY LIGHTING?
Because Light Is Already Part of Everyday Infrastructure.
Lighting exists where people need visibility: along streets, around buildings, through parks, across campuses, inside homes and throughout public spaces.
HOPLIT asks whether those familiar locations can also become useful places for connectivity. The opportunity is not to replace the purpose of lighting—it is to add another useful function to a location that already matters.
Wherever light is needed, there may also be an opportunity for connectivity.
